This fall, thousands of teams from around the country will be participating in The Side-Out Foundation’s Dig Pink® National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. Middle school, high school and college teams will promote breast health education in the community as well as raise funds to further research.
This coming Tuesday, October 15th, the Lady Redhawks of Westwood along with the Lady Bulldogs of Camden will come together to side-out breast cancer for the 2013 Dig Pink Rally. JV match begins at 5:00 and the Varsity match will begin at 6:30, with a special recognition ceremony following the JV game.
Dig Pink events give spectators the opportunity to become involved by making donations to the cause and by pinking out the events (i.e. donning pink to show their support). Before, during and after the volleyball match there will be many special events such as concession sales, raffles, games, and a mid-match recognition ceremony remembering those who lost their fight, and honoring survivors.
The proceeds from all donations will benefit the Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
For more information about the event, to honor a survivor or remember someone who fought breast cancer, or to make a donation please contact Amanda Kruysman at akruysman@richland2.org
