Our 2nd Annual Miss Westwood Pageant is set for Saturday, November 9 at 7pm. Tickets are $10 and are available from all contestants or at the door the night of the pageant. Come support your beautiful Redhawk ladies as they welcome you to the Sixties with the Hairspray theme!
On November 12, Westwood will be having an outdoor movie night on the field. To kick off Hunger Awareness month we will be showing “Hunger Games”. Admission is 4 canned goods. This event is open to the whole community, meaning you, your family, and your friends. Bring a chair and blanket! We will also have concessions.
We will be playing a Redhawk version of the Hunger Games starting on November 18. There will be a $3 charge to play - with all money going to help buy canned goods. In order to play, you must attend a meeting during lunch in the Auditorium to hear the rules and how the game works. Those meetings will be November 7, November 12, and November 13. A great prize package will be awarded to the one student who does not get eliminated! Teachers will also be playing!
It's time to begin thinking about how we are going to help those in need this holiday season. Here are some things you can do to help:
1. Start collecting canned goods - we will be having competitions between first period classes this year - details coming. Canned Good collections will begin next week! We are counting both servings size and the amount of cans that we collect at Westwood.
2. Save old newspapers you normally put in the recycle bin. Bring them to student activities.
3. Bring in gently worn clothes and blankets.
Everything this year will be kept LOCAL - meaning everything we do will help those in our Blythewood community.
