Redhawk Athletic Review 9/30-10/4

Girls  Golf Team Drops One and Wins Again vs Keenan: Our girls Golf Team dropped a match to a very talented AC Flora team on September 30th and then picked up another win vs Keenan this past Thursday as Elizabeth Holliman shot a 51 (school record) to lead the team to victory. Good luck to Elizabeth, Valorie Hall, Alexandria Mitchell, Ashli White, and Autumn Walters as they prepare for the Region Championship to be held on Tuesday October 15 at Timberlake Country Club.
Girls Tennis Team Drops a Pair to River Bluff and Chapin:  Our Girls Tennis Team was outmatched last week losing to River Bluff and perennial power Chapin. The girls face off against Dreher on Tuesday and have a bye on Thursday before coming home next Tuesday vs Camden. Go Redhawks!!
Volleyball Loses Both Region Matches: Our Lady Redhawks lost two tough matches last week to River Bluff and top 5 Chapin. With the two losses the Redhawks still remain in the hunt for that 4th playoff spot. The Lady Redhawks go to Dreher on Tuesday and then step out of region play as they travel to rival Blythewood on Wednesday.
Cross Country (Lewis Leads Boys Again while Howe and Hancock Lead Girls):
The Westwood Cross Country Teams competed at Camden last week as they faced some of their region foes. Ereck Lewis continues his strong season with a 2nd place overall finish with a time of 17:24. The Boys race was very competitive with AC Flora winning the meet as Chapin and our Redhawks were just several points behind. The Girls had a tougher day as they finished 7th in team scores, but Emma Howe continued her breakout season with another strong finish of 22:41 finishing 18th overall.
Football: Redhawks Drop Region Opener to Chapin
Our Redhawk Football Team traveled to Chapin this Friday hoping to start the region off with a win. Going in to halftime the Redhawks led 14-10 but Chapin came out in the second half and outscored the Redhawks 19-7. The Redhawks travel to Dreher this week for a huge game as both teams are 0-1 in region play and the winner of this gets back into the upper tier of the region standings.
Come out and support all of our teams this week!! Go REDHAWKS!
