The College of Engineering and Computing at The University of South Carolina will be hosting a National Engineers Week from February 16-22. The CEC is hosting a week of activities including guest speakers, a Code-A-Thon, and an Open House geared toward high school students.

Where: Swearingen Engineering Center, 315 Main Street, USC Columbia campus.

5. Leadership Opportunity for rising 10th and 11th grade girls:
Columbia College will host a week-long summer residential leadership program, serving young women in the Southeast. "STEP IN" will be held August 3-8, 2014. "STEP IN" is designed for rising 10-11th graders ready to champion their own unique talents and develop a framework for leadership. Through interactive workshops, girls will discover their strengths and learn how to use their talents in teams and leadership roles. Columbia College's Summer Leadership Institute has inspired and propelled young women leaders for 24 years. Tuition is $500 and includes programming, room and board. Scholarships are available based on financial need. The registration deadline is July 1, 2014.
