Bye Bye Birdie Dinner Theatre

Birdie Then, Birdie Now, Birdie Forever! The Westwood Actors’ Theatre and Westwood High School Community are proud to present the rollicking Fifties musical, Bye Bye Birdie! and Dinner theatre on Friday March 21, 2014 at 5:30pm.  The Dinner Theare will be held in the auditorium lobby beginning at 5:30pm.  This will be followed by the performance which features the talents of Westwood administrators, teachers, students, and parents at 7pm in the Westwood High School Auditorium located at 180 Turkey Farm Road in Blythewood.  Tickets are $25 for a single dinner and $45 for a couple and may be purchased by calling 803-691-4049 at extension 36703.

The Dinner will be catered by Scotties Café and Grill and will have a soda shop theme.  The menu includes Salad, French Fries, Beverage, Assorted Cookies and a choice of Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Grilled Chicken Burger, or Veggie Burger.

The story revolves around an Elvis-like rock star, Conrad Birdie, whose going into the army has put Albert Peterson’s management company in jeopardy.  The solution?  Kiss a fan club member, Kim McAfee, from Sweet Apple, Ohio, as a publicity stunt.  All would be fine except that Kim’s boyfriend, Hugo Peabody, is upset about the Kiss and with the help of Rose Alverez, Albert’s secretary and sometimes love interest, catastrophe ensues.  All’s well that ends well and Conrad successfully enters the army as planned.

The performance is appropriate for children of all ages and adults to enjoy.  For more information, contact Dr. Anne S. Richardson at (803) 691-4049, Ext.  36703 or via email at arichard@richland2.org.
