Redhawk Athletic Review October 14th-18th

Girls Golf: The Lady Redhawks competed in their first ever Region Championship last week and will be participating in the Upper State Qualifier on October 21st in Spartanburg. Good luck to the ladies as they compete against some of the best golfers in the upstate.
Girls Tennis: Although the Girls Tennis team came up short in their matches this week, they still continue to improve and work at trying to get better each match. This past week the Lady Redhawks lost matches to Dreher, Camden, and Lower Richland. This week the Lady Redhawks will conclude their season against AC Flora and River Bluff with both matches at home. Senior Night will be Thursday vs River Bluff as we recognize our lone Senior Jaqueline Carter.
Volleyball: Redhawks Lose a Heartbreaker to Camden- On "Dig Pink" Night vs #6 Camden the Lady Redhawks played one of their most inspiring matches of the season in a 5 game thriller vs Camden. After losing the first two games, the Redhawks battled back to take the next two to force a game 5 where they came up short 15-12. With a win vs AC Flora on Tuesday the Redhawks will secure a playoff spot for the second straight year. Senior night will be held on Thursday vs River Bluff. Come out and show your support for our senior volleyball players! Go Redhawks
Cross Country: Boys finish in 2nd at Chapin- Our Redhawk Boys XC team excelled at the Chapin meet last Wednesday finishing 2nd but more importantly defeated region foes Chapin and Lower Richland. Ereck Lewis broke his on school record with a time of 16:58 finishing 2nd overall. Lewis got a lot of help from teammates Kelvin Rosmeond (17:51) and Caleb Wilson (18:12). On the girl’s side, Emma Howe and Maddison Hancock both finished strong with times of 23:00 and 23:22 respectively. Both teams competed in the Sandhills Invitational this past Saturday in preparation for their Region Championships coming up this week at Camden.

Football: Redhawks Finish Off the Falcons- Our Redhawks continued the "Revenge Tour" with a huge region win over AC Flora 34-17. This win puts the Redhawks in sole possession of 2nd place in Region 4. Christian Brown continues to lead the Redhawk Offense with another strong running performance scoring 3 touchdowns and Anthony Douglas returned an interception for a touchdown to help lead the Redhawks to victory. This week the Redawks will play their final home game vs Camden. We will be honoring our Seniors before the start of this game so come out early to support our seniors and their parents as they get recognized. This week will also be "Military Night." Show your Military ID at the ticket booth and get a discounted ticket for $3 and if dressed in full uniform you will be admitted for free. All active and retired military will be recognized at halftime after the band performance.
