Redhawk Athletic Review October 21-25

Boys and Girls Cross Country:  Boys Barely Miss Out on Region Title--Our Boys Cross Country team missed its first Region Championship by 3 points as they fell to River Bluff in the Region Championships at Camden last week. Ereck Lewis finished 2nd overall along with Kelvin Rosemond finishing 3rd and Caleb Wilson 6th. The boys will compete in the Upstate qualifier Saturday morning at Sandhills. With a good showing Saturday the Boys could qualify for the State Championship next week at Sandhills. On the girl's side, Emma Howe and Maddison Hancock led the Girls team respectfully. Howe's time of 22:23 beat her school record set just a week earlier. The Girls team finished the meet in 6th place.
Volleyball: Girls Split Games vs AC Flora and River Bluff--By defeating AC Flora last week our Girls Volleyball team qualified for the State playoffs for the second year in a row. On Senior night the Lady Rehawks lost a thrilling 5 game match with River Bluff. Good Luck to our girls as they head to Chapman High School on Tuesday.

Football: Redhawks Secure Playoff Bid-- The Redhawks picked up their 3rd win in a row with a 27-13 victory over Camden. This win guarantees that the Redhawks will be at home in the 1st round of the 3A State Playoffs. Adonus Lee led the Redhawk offense with two touchdown receptions, while Brandon Howard kicked two field goals, and Whitney McLeod and Anthony Douglas both had interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. The Redhawks will travel to Lower Richland on Friday for their final regular season contest. Go Redhawks!!
